I fell of the wagon but now I am back! I am loading up my store with new stuff so take a look. You may remember the artwork below? I have been on quite a hiatus! I started a new job and was working terrible hours....and really just did not feel like blogging! How lame of me.
I learned how to knit and like a lot of knitters, have a lot of projects started, but not many finished. However, I finished my first pair of socks.....Alpaca....I'm allergic to it. So my great friend Mindy got a great pair of $20 hand wash socks....
I am beginning to re-stock my store again, I had been just selling wholesale at a local boutique, but I am ready to jump back in to the mix again.
I've also been doing some embroidery, the one I am most proud of is of a family photo my 4 year old drew. I don't have any photos of the finished embroidery version yet, but here is the original that inspired the thread version.
Here is one I did of a little snail for my mom for Mother's Day.
That's it for now, I hope to be posting on a regular basis....but life is crazy!
We are officially a sick house with 2 out of the 3 of us having the creeping death. Although, there is no barfing, so it could be worse. Walking seems to take more energy that either of us (just me and my husband our 4 year old is unscathed) can muster.

As usual I am obsessed with projects and some 1950's collectible that I feel I MUST have. This week it is this.
This is the Vintage Deluxe Reading Dream Kitchen, made for Barbie in the 1950's or 60's. I have not blogged about this yet, but I have a SERIOUS love affair with anything Blythe or Vintage Barbie and dollhouses and miniatures. It's ONLY $175 on ebay! Jerks....don't they know that I want it? I deserve it really. I have been in love with Lala from Lala-a-go go for a long time but flipped when I viewed her Flickr photos. You can see them here.
So whomever decides they want to be my sugar-mama and purchase this for me, I'll send you my home address...tee hee hee hee!
I've been working on some collages on canvas with sewing pattern paper. I've been making picture frames for awhile now and want to cover everything including my kitchen table with it. Anyway, here they are in their current state, I think I might add some button embellishments as well.....not sure. So, will anyone buy these? Or am I nuts! Oh wait, this top one does not feature sewing pattern paper...just a collage on canvas.
A conversation in the car with Big C:
I did something cool (I can't even remember now what it was)
Mom: "I'm so smart!"
Big C: "No, I'm smart"
Mom: "Well, can't we both be smart?"
Big C: "No, but I used up all the smart....."
Who can argue with logic like that? So, we're all out of smart over here, we'll have to go out and get some more. Maybe I can go over to the neighbors and borrow a cup of smart. Can you do that?
I survived the Junk Bonanza. It was ok, but my sales were not what I was hoping for. I would do it again next year, but I would bring my collage art and other stuff and design my booth display better. It was a lot of fun to hang out with Kari from Artsy Mama and her family. She was a huge inspiration for me! I also met Tam Helmin from XO Handworks which was really cool. I love the crafty world. I talked to the girls from I Like Me (handmade art shop in Minneapolis) and they were interested in having my junk in their store. So all-in-all it was a good experience.
I'm participating in an inchie swap and I've never done them before. It's pretty fun, but I need to get back to work on stuff for my shop.

The Karma gods are smiling on me today! I've been taking excellent care of my husband since he came home and today I sold 7 pieces from my Etsy shop. A big day for vintage button jewelry I guess.
I've also been working on my swap projects from Swap Bot and trying to get some photos taken for flickr and blogging.
Tomorrow I need to drop off items for the "A Stitch in Time Saves". This is a craft sale benefit for the 35W bridge collapse victims. All proceeds will go to the Bridge Disaster Fund. My husband is happily resting at home now, thank goodness! I did a lovely number on my ankle yesterday while getting the car to pick him up from the hospital. Unfortunately there were no signs like this:
Additionally, since the hospital is on the U of M Campus, there were thousands of college students moving in this weekend. I had quite an audience for my graceful performance.
Y'all forgive me for not posting the past few days, things have been busy here at the "Junk" house. I've not blogged about this yet, but on Friday my loverly husband is going into surgery to donate one of his happily functioning kidneys to our friend Derek who is kidney deficient (he only has only one and it's broken). At our recent trip to the fair, Derek ordered the same kind of beer ...."to prevent cross-matching problems".....yuk yuk yuk. I've been calling my emails about them "Ryan and Derek: Two Men and a Kidney".....great made for tv movie title. You can read about these two hilarious gents at twentypointfive. I'll wait....Here's some kidney's for ya while it's loading.......
So between the prep for that and the rain (not good for photography) I just have not gotten to any new posts. I do have lots to talk about though......new art, new hairpins, NEW BUTTONS.

So today is our first visit to the Minnesota State Fair this year! I can barely contain my excitement....animals, crafts, food on-a-stick, rides, noise, lights, beer, seed art! It is one of my favorite things to do.
This morning C and I went to get his new wagon....your cannot go to the fair without a wagon to ride in.....this is one pimped out wagon; it even has cup holders for mom and pop! So now C is in his room collecting stuff to put in his wagon to bring with us.
Several years ago, before I got really "crafty", I went to talk to the quilt ladies at the fair. I was asking how much they sell them for because I wanted to buy one......I was attacked by old ladies with needles! I was told that it was my responsibility as a woman to make a handmade quilt of my own. It was several years before I braved the quilt competition area again.....
I glue shit together!
