I got to make a desert this past weekend! Long ago before I had my son, I was a pastry chef (ok, aspiring pastry chef). I became pregnant while I was working at a high end wholesale desert shop and for some reason, they didn't want me barfing in the kitchen, go figure. So since then, I have made a few rockin' cakes but not for awhile. I was excited to make some pastry cream and it was damn good, if I do say so myself. My husband is donating one of his kidneys to a good friend of ours on Friday, August 31st so we went on a family picnic with them. It was really fun and I totally love to spend with my friend Mindy. So, anyhoo, here's my desert!
