Out of Commission....and I NEED THESE!

OK! So....I have been gone for awhile and have probably lost all my readers (if there were any). I pinched my sciatica! No that's not a body part related to a sexual act...good thing! It is a nerve in your spine and it causes devastating, bang-your-head-against-the-wall....PAIN! I'm not f$*@#ing kidding, I seriously cried for two days straight...until I got some meds and then I just whimpered a little.

So, I still hurt, but have stopped banging my head against the wall. I have a show coming up on Dec. 1st and am now panicking.....EEK! That the fuck am I going to do to get everything ready in time? Maybe pick up a different drug habit like meth to get me through...kidding.

In the meantime.....I WANT THESE!

Bad blogger...bad

I've been a bad blogger....just lazy I guess. I've been working on some projects with vintage wallpaper. I'm not sure about this one. I can't decide if it should stay as it is, or if I should add more.

Sigh....Fall

I love fall! Something about the air gives me more energy. I could never leave Minnesota unless it was to someplace that still has fall.....no California for me! However, today it is almost 90 and raining, you can cut the air with a knife it is so humid. This is unusual though....

Will Work for Buttons.....

Help! I need to find a part-time job. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I need to get the big C in to pre-school and I NEED to make some money. I wish that I could make enough on my art...but oh well.

So here's the deal, and I will take any suggestions any of y'all have. I am very technically savy, worked for the Geek Squad for many years and my husband is still a geek. I absorb software like a sponge, not sure why, but I can pick up any new software super quickly. I spent the last 4 years working in graphic design type stuff, so I know Adobe InDesign really well and I know a little about Photoshop.

Then of course, there is my creative, artsy, crafty experience. I think it would be fun to work in a creative environment....but where? Help! Where should I look?

I feel like there must be something out there that fits me perfectly, but I just haven't found it yet.

Anyone have any stellar ideas for me?

I just read three.....up until 5 am sort of thing....my family is ready to murder me. I guess I haven't read for awhile and I just need to get lost.....

Sick House.....

We are officially a sick house with 2 out of the 3 of us having the creeping death. Although, there is no barfing, so it could be worse. Walking seems to take more energy that either of us (just me and my husband our 4 year old is unscathed) can muster.

As usual I am obsessed with projects and some 1950's collectible that I feel I MUST have. This week it is this.

This is the Vintage Deluxe Reading Dream Kitchen, made for Barbie in the 1950's or 60's. I have not blogged about this yet, but I have a SERIOUS love affair with anything Blythe or Vintage Barbie and dollhouses and miniatures. It's ONLY $175 on ebay! Jerks....don't they know that I want it? I deserve it really. I have been in love with Lala from Lala-a-go go for  a long time but flipped when I viewed her Flickr photos. You can see them here.

So whomever decides they want to be my sugar-mama and purchase this for me, I'll send you my home address...tee hee hee hee!

I've been working on some collages on canvas with sewing pattern paper. I've been making picture frames for awhile now and want to cover everything including my kitchen table with it. Anyway, here they are in their current state, I think I might add some button embellishments as well.....not sure. So, will anyone buy these? Or am I nuts! Oh wait, this top one does not feature sewing pattern paper...just a collage on canvas.

 

 

Inchie Art, Buttons and Other Stuff

I've been working on a bunch of different stuff.....but not finishing anything. Sound familiar? I have a problem with projects.....I like to do too many things and I have too many ideas flying around. I've never been able to write them all down so that I can clear my head, however I am going to give it a shot again. So, of course, I need to make myself a new journal to use. Project number 3,145.

I finished some inchies the other day, I like them ok, but I think I am going to stick to a sewing theme.

I have also been working on putting together some new promo sheets to send out to retail buyers, etc. I need to start taking new pictures of people wearing my pieces instead of these groups of brooches. I know there has to be some new creative way for me to photograph these....any ideas?

Oh yeah, and Moo stickers....I love, love, love these!

Sellers Remorse....

I've been taking photos of things to sell on ebay. I almost always find one thing that I know I will have "sellers remorse" over. One of those things that I don't need, but just don't want to part with. Today it was this cute elephant planter. Actually, when I got him I didn't think he was very cute, but look at these cute photos. I'm afraid he'll have to stay here with his lamby lamb friends.

I am the LUCKIEST GIRL EVER!

Last spring I was a vendor at the Craftstravaganza in St. Paul where I met fellow crafty chic Becky (which for some reason I keep typing Beckly...maybe she should change her name). Becky is the mastermind behind Small Motor Designs and creates the most fabulicious, one-of-a-kind, embroidered necklaces ever. We talked briefly about doing a trade and have been emailing back and forth ever since.  I love her profile "Interests: embroidery, knitting, books, pens, beer, cupcakes".....how can you not love her! What's even funnier is that her tag line is "I make stuff". And of course mine is "I glue shit together". We are funny, funny girls.

Tonight I got an email from her with this picture attached.....

If this is not the coolest necklace you have ever seen, I'll eat Calvin's dirty socks (did you know that 4-year olds have REALLY stinky feet?).

Now the pressure is on....I am sending her pictures tomorrow of my unlisted crafty goods for her to choose some things from. I just hope my coolness can live up to hers....(bites nails)
